Round Up Week 4

Here are a few of the things I’ve been working on this week!

  • I updated the whole color scheme of the website, adding a new header and new graphics in the side bar. Also went ahead and updated the look of my Facebook fan page and Etsy shop. I’m especially in love with the yellow in the header, I feel like I need some more cheerful colors. Maybe it’s the longing for spring that does it?
  • I made a whole lot of components for more earrings and a bracelet, here’s a small part of it all:

  • This pair of earrings got 80% finished, I need to get the beads I ordered first. They tried delivering them today, but I wasn’t home so I have to wait until Monday before I can finish them…

  • I finally got myself to make a color palette post. Fun!
  • I got to use my tracing paper that I bought a while back, yay!

  • I’ve been working on my business plan.

There’s a lot more, but some things are more vague, like ideas that need to develop further before I can share them… What have you been working on this week?

Color palettes

I love color, and lately I’ve been very inspired by the beautiful color palettes I’ve been seing on Brandi’s blog and by the talk about Pantone’s colors for 2011. I’ve been meaning to make a color palette of my own for a while but never got around to it, but now that Brandi kindly provided us with a template, I have no excuse not to, so here we go!

Pink, pink pink and some orange in my wedding bouquet

.The colors look a bit cold in this picture, the pink was more pink and not so much pink with a purple tone.
I wanted a happy, bright, colorful bouquet, and had this as my inspiration (only I turned the colors around and had more pink than orange):

Link Love

The website & blog have a new fresh look! I really like it, just have a few tweaks left to fix. What do you think? As for the Link Love of this week, here is a small collection of links worth clicking and things worth reading:

1. Chez Larsson
This blog has become a must-read for me lately. It’s about home, organizing, decorating and more. Benita who writes the blog is Swedish, but the posts are in English. If you like organizing, you’re going to like Chez Larsson!

2. DaFont
Part of my little website & blog make-over was finding some nice new fonts. DaFont has sooo many to choose from. Brandi is a fellow font lover, and has a couple of nice compilations of her favorite fonts on her blog.

3. Mailchimp & Wufoo
If you have your own shop and can’t decide on what to use for your newsletter, try Mailchimp. I find it pretty easy to use and you can customize just about everything without too much hassle. Wufoo is great for the online sign up forms and it also lets you make surveys, among other things…

4. Amazing paper art at scissors + paper rock!
A blog showcasing some amazing paper artists. Definitely worth a look!

So this is quite the mix of links. I don’t know if you like that or if you’d prefer links per subject instead? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

Round Up Week 2 (& 3)

So last week kind of disappeared work wise. I only have a few things to show you, but I have a lot more going on “behind the scenes” that you’ll get to see soon!

Silver, stones and earwires. These components are being turned into earrings and pendants. It all looks very tiny, but just wait a week and I’ll show you just what they’re becoming :)

This week I’ve been looking for new photo props. I found the wooden heart above in a cute little shop in the city today, and so far so good! Now I’d also like to also figure something out that lets me add a pop of color to the photos without being over the top. If anyone has a good idea, let me know! :) My photos are constantly changing, and I hope I’m not alone on this. I just can’t seem to be satisfied with what I’ve got. At least not yet!

But anyway, if you’ve got any good ideas – send them this way!

Wordless Wednesday (Malta)

Link Love

This week’s list will be short and sweet. I haven’t been online much as we had a weekend trip coming up, and my husband kept the destination secret… I tried to figure it out but failed completely! We’ve been off on a lovely 3 day trip to Malta and came back on Sunday, so I haven’t had much time to click around myself!

So here we go, two (actually three) links that I hope will inspire.

Picture above: Lena Corwin via Hello Sandwich via Pinterest

1. Pinterest
I love pinning and re-pinning things onto moodboards. If you’re trying to define your style, no matter if it’s about clothes or furniture or anything else, Pinterest works. Just start pinning the things you’re drawn to, I’m sure you’ll start seeing a pattern pretty fast! :)
Go have a look!

2. Furoshiki
The picture above is giftwrapping furoshiki style. I think this is so neat! You can wrap things in a multitude of ways – use it for giftwrapping or grocery shopping…
Another nice example of this can be found on Poppytalk.
