So I disappeared quite suddenly, sorry about that. I’m actually not back yet, but I did want to let you in on what’s going on! I’m going to become a mother for the second AND third time this autumn. Yep, I’m pregnant. With twins. It’s taking a lot of energy and my focus is turned towards my family, maybe something I could have predicted as the same thing happened when I was pregnant with my son…
So now you know. I’m alive :) However, I don’t know when I’ll be able to return to UlvDesign, or in exactly which way things will continue. Thanks for all your support so far!! ♥
Today I’m taking part in a Color Palette Blog Walk organized by Brandi at Brandigirlblog!

My inspiration for these palettes is travelling, and more specifically, Lanzarote. Both photos are taken around sunset so they’re quite similar in color, although they’re a little more intense in the first photo.

Lanzarote is part of the Canary Islands, a group of islands 125 km from the coast of Africa. We went in September 2008, and I still imagine the lava beaches from time to time. The colors in these palettes are muted but pretty. Makes me want to go on vacation again, soon.
Please visit the other participants of this Blog Walk!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

I hope everyone’s had a good week! I have a to-do list that is thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis long and it’s going a bit slow at this very moment. I have my mother here visiting this week so we’ve been doing some sightseeing and she’s been spending time with my little boy. Next week I’m going to kick into gear and work, work, work!
But for now, I’m going to enjoy some family time. Hope you’ll have a great weekend! :)
Hope you all are having a great day, no matter if you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or not!
Love Hearts by Sarah and Bendrix
Tomorrow my hubby, mijn man ♥ is coming home together with my mum. He’s been helping my dad with his house in Sweden for a couple of days, and she is coming here to visit us for a few days (well she’s not really coming here to see us, she mainly wants to see our son, I think ;))
Feels a lot like the weekend is starting tomorrow!
My muse threw me off a little this week by telling me I needed to work with silk. I had to wait for a day when I could actually go and pick some up, then get my hands on my mother-in-law’s sewing machine… Right now I have two bracelets that still need a clasp, but I love the way they’re turning out! I’m thinking of adding a bit of silver to them as well, and if I do I’ll be sure to post new pictures.

Here are some of my color inspirations…
Purple and grey:

Orange and pink:

I’ll also need to make a turquoise palette as that’s one of my favorite colors.
I’ve also been doing some administration and of course I felt the need to try to make it more fun. Now I’ve got turquoise binders. So it’s still not too much fun to do administration, BUT at least all these important papers have somewhere pretty to live nowadays!
What have you been working on this week?
A few days ago inspiration struck again – I needed silk!! Of course I didn’t have any laying around, but yesterday I picked up a few different colors. I really like the color play most of them have. Now I just need to let my muse work and we’ll see what it turns into…

Have you ever felt a need to work with a material you normally don’t use?
How did it turn out?
Ta-daa!! First item that gets to be checked off my list is…
Book a summer vacation
We’re going to spend the first week of July in sunny Tuscany, Italy! I’m so excited about going, but I have a small “problem”; I usually can’t handle high temperatures too well. I get tired and slow… But, who says it’s going to be like that this time around? We’re just going to go for it, and if it’s too warm, then so be it. I love Italy and a few summers back we were in Tuscany for the first time. It’s SO beautiful there, so I can’t wait to go back…

This post is part of my 21 before June 21st list, click the link for more posts! The entire list can be found here!
Just a few little things I think deserve a bit of link love. And speaking of love, we’re in February! Valentine’s Day is coming up… Therefore these finds are all love related. And bike related, as I would love to have a new bike! Hehe…

My beads finally arrived, so I got these finished.
I’m very happy with the way they turned out!
I also made the same ones in pink, although I haven’t gotten those photographed yet so you’ll have to settle for a somewhat blurry first sketch:

These are sketches from last week that I’m considering putting into my portfolio. I’m currently going through photos and sketches, trying to decide on what to put in it!

I also got back onto Twitter again. I really can’t decide when it comes to Twitter…whether to like it or not.
I’m going to give it another go and then we’ll see!
